well i got to book out today...
but abit sianz... since i got cdo duty on sunday... needa book back in tmr night...
well tts not all... signed an extra for a stupid mistake... meaning nxt week im gonna be doing another sunday duty again... sighs...
im damn stupid sia... seriously... zzz
ok we first heard the news of the accident when we were at the signal institute...
he was in critical condition then...
when we were on the way home... i heard of the news tt an nsf was pronounced dead...
its a very saddening incident...
esp when he's juz a 20 year old promising young man...

ohh... didnt expect to post this so early... looks lik the restrictions on the use of laptops are different here in OCS from BMT... we hve slightly more freedom... but we are also treated as young officers capable of managing ourselves...

there is a qns i want to ask someone... but i dare not do it...
sighs... everyone is thinking abt who to bring for social night...
arent they thinking too far? we r barely at the end of our CLM term...

BMTC (Section mates)

POP loh~!!
thats what i shouted when i threw my jockey cap as high up into the sky as i could for the very first time... (well for the rehearsals we weren't allowed to... so no surprise thr)
hahaz 9 weeks of BMTC gone... juz lik how i had suddenly started... now it had ended...
pretty mixed feelings if u asked me..
in a sense i would say tt coy really matters alot...
BRONCO... the wild steed (horse) isnt the xiong-est of all coys... but we still maintained a certain lvl of discipline... well some say we r one of the slackest..
nvm its all in the past now... no more tekong... (or at least for quite some time)
i arent gonna go into details abt my entire 9 weeks... tts FAR too long... even by my standards...
so im juz gonna mix and match n be totally random on this...
c if u can catch on with what im saying..

here goes:
first, my section mates... 15 individuals from different backgrounds coming together to form Bronco, Platoon 2, Section 2 01/12
in accordance to bed number (n my summary of them throughout the 9 weeks):
1) Samuel the whiny
2) Yao Nian the missing
3) Joel the mugger + my buddy
4) ME
5) Kwang Beng the keng beng (aka majiji apok - something in korean/jap i forgot)
6) Shi Yuan the don't want OCS
7) Chnia Ghee the soft
8) Jie Xuan the always-first-to-bathe (before some rule was implemented)
9) Zhi Sheng the 'Bob' (his nickname for 9 weeks)
10) Adrain the Malaysian accent (though he's a Singaporean)
11) Jabez the smelly
12) Teng Yang the Rafflesian
13) Yong Fong the blur
14) Zi Xuan the singer
15) Arul the Vijaya (no racism involved - special since he's one of the 3 Indians in our entire platoon)
16) Clifton the artist
k time for more elaboration...
for 9 weeks (technically 10 weeks... they scammed us one week)... these 15 other 15 ppl had been with me thru everything... all the ups and downs of my BMTC life (which wasnt alot actually)... but it had been a fun n joyous time for me when i was with them... you could really tell their characters, attitudes and even relationships with each other...
well since this is a public blog... i arent gonna disclose the insider stuff... but everyone can juz see that bob and adrian are lik the gay buddies of our section... they do almost everything tgt...
while samuel keep being unable to find his...
samuel is a nice guy who has the makings of a leader... but whenever he comes back to bunk, he keeps whining abt the things that he might have to do... well... not really causing any harm simply joking around.. one thing for sure is that he worries excessively.. oh n he's EXTREMELY scared of the supernatural (even much much more than me LOL)
yao nian is a very serious guy when it comes to stuff... hailling frm hci, he uses flowery vocab and proper sentences when he speaks, making it kinda awkward when i try to reply using my usual singlish... however most of the time... we juz keep wondering where he had gone...
my buddy is a pretty quiet guy... well he is earnest in trying to do the things that r commanded.. however since he is re-taking his As, he is always reading or studying notes when we r around in bunk...
kwang beng has always been the chao keng of our section... masters in chao keng... hence the name keng beng... but other than tt flaw he is actually a pretty nice guy who tries to do as little work as possible (hahaz)
shi yuan is pretty hard to describe... my first impression was that he is damn strong... easily able to pull 15 pullups without breaking much of a sweat... i wouldnt say he's a charismatic person... but i would definetely trust him to cover my back... oh n he spends the longest time chatting on the phone every night (tsktsk)
chnia ghee is lik a panda. why? he's soft spoken, even when he tries to shout (he fails)... but he's pretty gentle and a nice guy who spends his time hibernating whenever we get back to bunk (LOL)... however, he is one that would do his work... (this is a joke among our section: Rifleman Ang forever!)
jie xuan is one of those full rank points from hci, but he isnt exactly the kind tt is proud of whatsoever... he's a nice guy who strives to go into the military band (which i hve absolutely no idea why... well everyone has their own goals... tts good isnt it?)
now to zhi sheng aka bob (his real english name is eric but we juz ended up calling him bob anws), he's the horniest out of our grp and pretty much the joker and always does the weirdest stuff (almost always tgt with adrian)... he might seem square but dont look down on this ippt gold with 9.10
adrian is yet another full rank point... but he is one with a pretty happy-go-lucky attitude... definetely another guy tgt with bob... the gay buddies nvr fail to make us laugh with their eccentric songs or words... oh n he plays dota too with yao nian
then thr's jabez... the one tt stinks alot due to his strong BO, he's a frisbee player and he's always kj-ing jiexuan... no idea what kind of conflict happened between them... but its always funny and interesting to see the exchange...
teng yang coming frm the prestigious RJ... well at first we thought tt he wouldnt fit... we were right... he wasnt able to completely blend in with the army life... he's mostly the slowest out of our lot... and abit of tt atas... and well definetely no sportsmanship...
yong fong is the blurrest out of our section... he lost his gas regulator during field camp! luckily he found it in his shellscrape, or it would have been confinement for the entire platoon... i wouldnt exactly say tt he's stupid or what... more like he's very blur and don't take in everything as fully as they come...
zi xuan is the very smily and straightforward kind of person... he doesnt act or talk behind other ppl's back... he would juz tell them straight in the face... in a way tts a gd fren to hve to tell u ur mistakes or flaws... he's also the singer in our section and when he loses his voice... he sounds exactly lik sir shaunald
arul... what can i say... he's a pretty capable ldr... able to hold his cool and all... somehow he and jabez likes to make fun of each other...
clifton is the friendliest guy u would ever find around... he's nice, tall and likes to draw... though initially the drawings all look lik something tt came out of horror movies... he had been stealthily improving throughout the 9 weeks thr... jy clifton u could do it!

hahaz i would miss this bunch of crazy yet fun bunch of ppl now tt POP is over... sighs... hope i would get to see them again soon and often... friendships lik these dun come often...
but it's nice to know tt someone would hve your back when u need them...
these are my buddies, my comrades, and my section mates... who else could u depend on?

phew... less than 48 hours to end of my BMTC journey...
cant wait man...

wow it had been ages since i last blogged... for more than 2 months my blog has been...
i guess pretty dead...
but well... this is just another random post...
i doubt i would be posting out my entire bmt experience...
for now.. this is juz to show that i hadnt given up on this blog juz yet..
during the block week nxt week, lets post some stuff abt my BMT life..
it was pretty funny... i was walking home juz now from the supermarket when 朋友 sort of started playing in my head... hahaz i guess i really do miss them..
hope we r able to hve some outings or whatsoever soon..

Everything for the past month or so...

wow... damn i havent posted for a long time again...
so i will try my best to rmbr the chronological order... but since i've got such a bad memory i can only try... so pardon me if thr's any mistakes arnd..

8th - 12th Jan
ok so 2 weeks ago i went to cameron highlands with keith for sort of a trekking trip..
but first n foremost... the coach is one of the best i had ever rode in... damn nice XD lols
first day we stayed at chuagin in brinchang, which was a pretty ok hotel... but wasnt as gd as the second one at tanah rata... forgot the name alrdy though i tink it was e.s.n. or something lik tt...
considering the prices RM60 for chuagin and RM50 per night for 2 nights at the other one...
well we did trekking for the first 2 days... which wasnt exactly as smooth a journey as i thought i was gonna be..
all jungle trails and the likes... well the pics and videos probably wouldnt make it seem too hard but trust me when i say this... u would be friends with pretty much everything u can see in the forest..
branches, trees, trunks, roots, mud, insects, birds and even rain.. well u would get into contact with pretty much all of them, except for birds (u can only hear them)..
then keith also somehow brought back some weird leech lik thingy back to the hotel on the 2nd day... which was damn disgusting...
i threw away my shoes by the 2nd day... its was brown with mud beyond recognition.. didnt even want to touch it alrdy...
when we woke up for the third day.. it was raining and somehow prevented us from further jungle trailling since it would probably make the route alot harder than it already was... so we ended up deciding to slack for the third day hahaz..
went on a half day sightseeing tour around cameron with some agency at RM25... which was a rather ok price...
lols the highlight of tt tour is the insect and reptile farm though we visited a bee farm (ok we were pretty hum for this as well), tea plantation and also a strawberry farm, we even shared a raw corn (which tasted not bad btw)
so the butterflies at tt farm were quite big and juz freaked the hell out of both of us..
then keith saw his childhood dream pet - the rhinoceros beetle..
and a ton of other rather scary looking insects.. (i found out tt both of us are chickens abt them LOL)
yeah so blah blah blah..
then we had steamboat dinner tt night... and yeah went back the nxt day..
n i have no idea where all the pics went... all in keith's camera since i didnt bring mine...
but wow, its an enriching trip which i had quite alot of fun..
then it would hve been more interesting if we had lik arnd 2 more ppl who could handle tt heat...
a few times we almost got lost... but with juz 2... it cant really be called an expedition.. more of an adventure trip with 2 adventurers...
would definetely try to go for another few mountains around with some friends when i can find time in the future..

ok then it was sending off szewing... i forgot the date actually and originally not intended to go
but somehow renjie managed to psycho/persuade me to go..
then again... why not? it was pretty much the last (hopefully not) time tt we r gonna be seeing her...
well.. she was a friend... classmate for 2 years and a PW mate...
so kayez... byez Szewing... will miss ya as a friend... hope tt we will meet again someday and all the best in everything u do~! :D

ok then it was sherman's chalet which i pretty much crashed uninvited >< lols
well hopefully they didnt mind much... but thr was quite an attendance... at least over 20 ppl...
shaldnt name everyone in case i miss out some ppl hahaz..
then thr was his bro, sherwin, a p6 student which was rather funny... and apparently i tink he alrdy hates some of the ppl tt were thr...
everyone were either bbq-ing, eating or singing k..
but aft tt some ppl left n the remainder were either playing ps3 or 三国杀...
then it went on for quite a while until arnd 4-5 the ps3 ppl had alrdy fell aslp and part of the card game peeps too leaving only 4, chenteck, sean, guangyi and me...
then we, couldnt slp/couldnt find place to slp, went out to the tables outside and strted playing munchkins, another card game which i learnt within tt few hours... until finally the sun came out... gy and sean left then...
we n ct ended up slping at around 9am..
then i woke up again at around 10am due to voices showing tt ppl were alrdy awake...
for breakfast, kl and paw sort of took out the leftovers from the bbq be4 and went for a second round of bbq breakfast...
then it was sort of another short round of karaoke...
aft tt they decided the plans for the rest of the day...
it was arnd 12+pm when they left for ubin and i went back since my family were going for steamboat be4 cny since my bro was flying off for australia to further his studies at some canberra military school...
waited for the freaking 29 which took more than 10mins to arrive...
stopped at some busstop to change my bus...
but realised i juz missed one of it...
so sort of sat down n waited for 17 again... but damn epicly, i fell aslp LOL
woke up to find tt i missed another 17...
so became alot more awake in order not to miss the nxt one...
finally reached home at arnd 2.30pm..

19th Jan
then it was sending my brother off...
sighs feeling damn weird really...
its lik i wouldnt be able to see him for a year at least... and its gonna be lik tt for the nxt 4 years...
i really dunno what to feel..
sad tt he's leaving or be glad tt he's gonna be back before long?
but anws... haizzz..
i guess u can say im feeling sad tt he left...
but now i can only wish him all the best in his studies >< and tt he will do well... he must! ^^

so aft tt sending off it was to ct's hse at siglap...
the journey thr was damn crap...
sms-ed him but he didnt reply...
then i took a stop too much and strted walking around since i have completely no idea whr izzit...
walked around for at least 50mins around tt area back and forth...
calling him halfway, my batt died (and i thought tt only happened on tv and movies!)
so i was pretty lost thr... until somehow my phone didnt really die and managed to on again... but decided not to risk it by calling again but thru sms-es..
so he finally managed to pick me up with ck and jf...
but i juz realised how rich he actually was... there's a freaking elevator in the hse?!
so then we ended up mahjong-ing...
ct's bro and sis came back... and his bro was talking about how he got the cert for ORD alrdy lols...
ok then jk and sherwin came later...
so we played 3 rounds and end up ck 一家赢三家... the losses doubled when we intially decided on 20/40..
so it was around 4+am tt we went down to sing k in their movie room...
sherwin had to work so he fell aslp in ct's bed...
somehow i had no idea how.. but sang sang sang... i feel aslp be4 i knew it at arnd 6+am? i guess...
then when i awoke again, it was 12pm alrdy... jk n ck were gone n jf and ct were both still slping to the left of me...
ct woke up soon aft and we woke jf which then went up to find sherwin gone too.. packed up the mahjong n left...

20th Jan
sqd dinner at vivo was quite the success with 18 ppl turning up... the highest turn up rate for any recent sqd events tt had been organised...
everyone seem to have jobs or something and doing well... well i guess only me n keith r the slackest not finding job or stuff...
it really ended up as subway on the roof of vivo... well at least we can say we r lucky tt it didnt rain or anything...
then there was also the fireworks at uss which can be seen rather clearly...
speaking of clear... the sky too was clear enuf for us to see the belt and the entire body of Orion... but couldnt really tell any other constellations...
then thr was jr n his sweets... arnd 3kg for $25 at chinatown which was a steal and a pretty funny story behind it...
but aft eating the chatting and hanging out session didnt exactly go tt well... the entire grp cant seem to do a thing tgt... so we ended up listening to each other's gossips and stuff...
then the guys left first leaving the girls + winston...
apparently he didnt want to get home so early... so we juz left him thr... while the rest of the guys left...
a rare meeting chance but ended up exactly as it was... meeting only... no long time ago chats tt exactly happened.. so it was quite saddening and boring in a sense...
but at least i got to know how some others are doing...
hahaz guess the sqd had changed quite abit and some no longer lik to juz hang out n chill...
was tempted to stay but seemed weird...
this would be rather good once in awhile... but i wonder what the future turn up rates would be lik...
will we still stay lik this? i sure hope so...
